This subject is one of the most often depicted scenes in The Tail of the Gengi. During a procession, men in attendance of lady Aoi are creating a disturbance around the carrage of Lady Rokujo which is in the center, as they fight over a favored parking spot. The group of people on the left are probably Lady Aoi's servants. Policemen can be seen rushing into from the left. This scene's popularity is probably due to the many kinds of actions involved. The other chapters deal with more sensitive and emotional aspects of the story. - JDP |
